Dave, Colt and Jax baby pictures

Colt - 2 months old.
Jax - 2 months old
Daddy - 2 months old.
I think Jax looks ALOT like Dave at this stage, even more than Colt did. Though Colt has Dave's lips and I think Jax has mine.

Who does Colt look like?

Jax 2 month doctor check-up

My youngest (for now) little boy is 2 months old today. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I want it to slow down so I can enjoy every minute of staying home with my kids. Before I know it I will have to go back to work and that is something that I can not even think about right now (I just start crying and getting all emotional!). Anyway, Jax had his doctor check-up today. He is a healthy growing boy weighing in at 13lbs even (80%) and 23 inches (80%). He is still smaller in both weight and height than Colt was at this age but he is my no means small. I get lots of comments already on his huge cheeks and chubby arms and legs. I call him my chunky monkey. He is smiling more and more every day and is starting to making cooing sounds and talk back to us. I forgot how fun this stage is, of course I think every stage is super fun and I always say "oh this is my FAVORITE stage" and then they enter another stage and that becomes my FAVORITE. I guess I love everything about having a baby, I don't even mind getting up at night (especially since its only once a night). I cherish every moment I get alone with Jax and spend most of the time while Colt naps sitting on the couch holding him and just kissing and looking at him. I don't watch television, I don't read books, I don't even get on the computer , I just sit in my living room and snuggle with my sweet little boy. These moments will be over way too soon and I don't want to miss a moment of it.

Pics of Jax

Sunday morning breakfast

The tradition lately has been to have Dave's famous pancakes for breakfast on Sunday mornings before church. I say famous because they are the best pancakes I have ever tasted in my life....no joke! I don't know what he does to them but I look forward to Sunday mornings all week long. Colt of course wakes up saying "pancakes, pancakes" until Dave gets out of bed to make them. He always makes Colt little ones and today he put a little star of whip cream in the middle of each one. Colt was loving it!

Saturday Market and Family

Since my sister and her girls and my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Rick were in town we met up at the farmers market this morning to have some breakfast and talk. Debbie just sent me these pictures on her camera and they were too cute not to post! Ann and the girls are leaving this morning for Boise but Deb and Rick will stay until tomorrow.

My beautiful sister and her cute little girls!
My Aunt Debbie and Perry.
Unfortunately Colt was hot and tired so he was not cooperating in the picture. It must have been close to 100 degrees today!
I love my sweet chubby baby!!!
That evening we went over to my parents for dinner. My mom and Deb did most of the cooking and had so much fun together. They don't look like sisters do they???:)
Debbie finally got some one on one time with Mr. Jax. He had a really bad tummy ache all evening and she got him all settled down.
Of course no trip to my parents is ever complete until Colt gets to play some fetch with Jordan. He asks every single time we go over there and my dad is always happy to oblige.

Aunt Ann and Twins

My sister Ann and her twin girls Reese (holding Jax) and Perry came to visit for a couple days. They turned 2 in April and it was so much fun to see them again.
Colt had a blast playing with both his cousins. They spent alot of time riding bikes, playing in the sand box and eating outside on Colt's table. Of course there was a little bit of crying over not sharing toys but for the most part they played very well together! We went swimming on Friday at a friends house and had lunch by the pool. All the kids loved swimming and so did Ann and I because it was so hot here!
Aunt Ann having a hotdog picnic on the floor with the kids. Notice they are all in there pajamas still, that is because Perry asked for a hotdog at 9am so Ann decided to give all the kids hotdogs for breakfast:)

On Saturday before Ann and the girls left for Boise we went to the farmers market and met my parents there.

Colt is in LOVE with his cousin Perry. He wanted to hold her hand all weekend long and always wanted her by his side. It was very sweet!

Welcome Jax Party

Dave's mom and three sisters gave Jax a little welcome party this evening. We had it at my mom's house and it was so much fun!
Colt and Camryn got to join in on the fun. They both just really wanted to play with balloons most the time.
My friend Jill brought her little girl Emily who is just a couple of weeks younger than Colt.
This is my friend Becky and her sweet daughter Birtuken.
My mom set up the outside with chairs and tables for everyone. I was a little worried that she wanted to have it outside because it was 100 degrees today but since they live closer to the mountains it was much cooler and the big trees gave us lots of shade. Julie, Kenzie, Katie and Randee brought lemonade, ice tea, veggie and fruit platter and a taco dip as well as strawberry shortcake.
My mom had set up a little table for all the kids and Katie and Randee spent most the evening playing with them.
Since I already had a boy the first time I really did not need much so Julie had put on the invitations that it was a diaper and wipes party. It turned out perfectly. I still have yet to buy any diapers for Jax and I don't think I am going to have to for quite awhile still! My mom made Jax the cutest quilt and my mom's good friend Vicki gave him a homemade baby backpack. Dave's mom and sisters got Colt and Jax matching outfits as well as a gift certificate to get family photos done. I can't wait, we have never had professional photos done since our wedding so I am excited to get a good family photo. I am planning to wait until September to get them done though.
Aunt Dee Dee (Randee) is amazing with the little kids. I love having her around because she just takes over and watches the kids. Whenever she is around I hardly have to do ANY work, she will play with Colt, feed him, change diapers, etc. She is an amazing Auntie and Colt talks about her ALL the time!!
Colt sitting next to his rock (which says his name and birthday) on the pig. My mom has this set up that has 7 rocks (one for each grandchild), a little tree and this pig which Colt calls Wilbur.
Thank you to all who came to celebrate Jax it was such a fun time. I am so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends!!!

Colt stories

~ Dave has been riding his road bike alot lately. He pretty much goes for a bike ride almost every evening after dinner. Colt likes to be in the garage and help him get ready to ride. He helps Dave pump up his tires, put on his bike shoes, helmet, gloves, fill up his water bottle, etc. Then he stands in front of the house and waves bye bye to his daddy and yells " i love you mucho" over and over again until Dave is no longer in sight. This past week Colt was riding his bike around the house wearing his helmet (just like daddy) when he brings us his tennis shoes and asks us to put them on him. Since then every time Colt rides his bike around the house he insists we put his tennis shoes on. The other night while Dave is once again putting his shoes on him Colt looks at him and says "Tolt's bike shoes" and then it all makes sense. His tennis shoes are black just like Dave's bike shoes, he now insists on wearing his "bike shoes" whenever he rides his bike (which is pretty much all day long). If only he could learn how to put them on himself!!

~ He rides around the house making this motorized sound with his mouth and then stopping and telling us bye bye and that he is going to work. Today as he was riding around the house he stopped to tell me "bye" as usual I asked him where he was going and instead of work his response was "coffee" so I asked him what he was going to get at the coffee place and he replied "ice latte." Obviously I go through the coffee drive-thru way too often!

~ The other night Colt woke up around 1am and came into our room. He climbs up on Dave's side of the bed with his blanket, lovie, a book and on his head is his fisherman's hat. He asks Dave if they can go "outside" and "bike-riding." It was 1am but we both still laughed.

~ Today I took Colt running in the jogging stroller, he turns around to look at me as I am running and says "mommy face is sweaty!"

~ Last night I had just put Colt down to bed after reading him The Three LIttle Pigs (Both Dave and I have read that book to him so many times we have it memorized word for word now). I can hear him talking so I go over to the door to hear what he is saying. Colt: " Huff, Puff blow house down." then " not by hair of chin chin chin" then "little pig little pig let me in".

Colt and Jax

I was trying to set Jax up for a little photo shoot but Colt kept asking to be in the pictures with him. So I went ahead and let him, he has been so nice to Jax and really wanted to be next to him so I did not want to make a big deal about it.
Going in for a kiss.
Then he asked to hold "brudda."
Of course that led to wanting to touch his head.....
......which led me to end the photo shoot!

Cooling off at the river.

After picking all those blueberries in the heat of the day we decided to head down to the park and let the kids cool down in the river a bit. We did not bring swimsuits so we let them play in their diapers instead.
Memah spent most the time in the water playing with the kids while the rest of us sat in the shade relaxing and talking. Thanks Julie!!

Jax spent his time sleeping (again!).
Colt's diaper was so full we just took it off and let him swim naked for awhile. He had so much fun and loved playing. Hopefully he is this comfortable around the water when we go to Chelan next month!
